SANDPOINT — The visiting Bengals took advantage of a broken play in the 15th minute to score the game’s only goal and upset the Bulldogs in Inland Empire League play at War Memorial Field.

"We lost the ball in the midfield and they were able to counterattack and slip a ball through to penetrate our defense and they got a 1v1 with our keeper and scored," Sandpoint coach Connor Baranski said.

Baranski said his attack “lacked effectiveness, and we didn't generate enough chances on goal."

He did praise the defense of Aliyah Strock, Maddie Mitchell and Cecilia Dignan.

"Unfortunately, we probably deserve to lose that one," Baranski said.
