NIC TRUSTEES: Vote for Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman

| September 25, 2022 1:00 AM

I’m writing to support the candidacies of conservatives Pete Broschet, Brad Corkill and Tarie Zimmerman for the North Idaho College Board of Trustees.

As a community, we must protect the accreditation of North Idaho College. A fully accredited College guarantees that the credits earned by students will transfer to a four-year institution of their choice.

Concerns and uncertainties about the accreditation status are contributing to a decrease in enrollment, along with a reduction in annual giving. Both critical for the viability of the institution.

Next, consider the economic impact on our community if NIC loses accreditation. Approximately 3,000 people are employed by NIC and it has an estimated economic impact approaching 13 million annually.

Employers rely on NIC for competent, trained employees. When accreditation is threatened, so are about 1,300 jobs in our community.

The Banducci contingent has made a mockery of NIC’s governance. They have seriously jeopardized the reputation of the college by endangering accreditation, wasting funds and creating insurance problems, all of which has further threatened the financial rating for the college.

Enough is enough. It’s time for our community to step up and vote to put an end to this nonsense. A vote for Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman, all reasonable and knowledgeable individuals, will ensure that North Idaho College remains viable and continues to be a gem in our community for both students and employers. Vote Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman.
