COEUR d'ALENE — Oktoberfest was a hit.
All 2,000 tickets for annual German-themed celebration in downtown Coeur d'Alene were sold.
Emily Boyd, executive director of the Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association, said all went smoothly for the event held on Friday and Saturday.
There were more than 30 types of beers and ciders, beer gardens around downtown, live music, along with German food from special Oktoberfest menus.
Even the weather, warm, breezy and dry, was close to perfect.
Two new contests included stein-holding and costumes.
Boyd said it was the most tickets they have sold for Oktoberfest in several years.
Even with thousands drinking beer in a central location, there were no negative incidents that often accompany such events.
