PF man arrested on child porn charges

POST FALLS — A Post Falls man was arrested Tuesday on child pornography charges.

Traves Jorden Dawson, 29, was arrested by Post Falls police detectives on three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by distribution and seven counts of sexual exploitation of a minor by possession due to his alleged possession and distribution of child pornography over the internet, according to a press release.

The investigation was in response to tips filed with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that had been reported by the social media app, Kik.

"It is alleged that Mr. Dawson shared child pornography with other offenders using Kik," the release said.

A search warrant was served at Dawson’s home in the 100 block of N. Cambie Street on Tuesday morning. During the search, child pornography was found on Dawson’s cellphone, which included photos and videos of prepubescent victims, the release said.

Dawson’s digital devices were submitted to the Post Falls Police Department Digital Forensics Lab for analysis.

The investigation was conducted by the Post Falls Police Department with the assistance of the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office.
