FENTANYL: More than what’s been seized

| September 21, 2022 1:00 AM

I’d like to add some important information to a letter written by Susan Reisenauer, published in the Sunday, Sept. 18 Coeur d’Alene Press.

A dose of fentanyl the size of a grain of salt is enough to kill a person. According to the Customs and Border Protection website (cbp.gov), 4,600 pounds of fentanyl were seized in 2020, 11,200 pounds of fentanyl were seized in 2021 and so far this year, 10,100 pounds have been seized.

Bear in mind, those were the seizures, not to include what has gotten past the border and distributed throughout the country. As it makes its way into every community, it is being packaged and distributed as candy, making it attractive to our young and vulnerable children. As long as our southern border remains as open as it currently is, this epidemic, along with the record number of illegal immigrants will continue to grow.

Prominent Democrats will tell you the borders is secure, statistics say otherwise.
