NIC: Elect Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman

| September 16, 2022 1:00 AM

From 1986 to 1992, I served as a trustee and board chair for the North Idaho College board of trustees. I know how essential a competent, well-functioning board is to the health of the college. The NIC board has been in utter disarray since November 2020. After receiving a stellar evaluation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, in the spring of 2020, the college has now received a warning from that accrediting body citing problems with governance. Some order was reasserted with the appointments of David Wold, John Goedde and Pete Broschet to the board. Our community needs NIC and NIC needs a well-functioning board.

For this reason, I will be voting for Pete Broschet, Brad Corkill and Tarie Zimmerman for the NIC board of trustees. These three are conservative, competent community leaders.

We need NIC and NIC needs competent leaders. Remember the names Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman in November — conservative leaders for NIC.
