CDA 2030 has new director
Greta Gissel is the new executive director of CDA 2030, a community-based nonprofit formed in Coeur d’Alene in 2013.
“I am honored to serve an organization that represents a collective vision for our future created over the years through input by so many voices,” said Gissel, in a news release.
An Idaho native and graduate of the University of Idaho, Gissel served on the original CDA Vision 2020 Draft Committee that later became CDA 2030, Inc. She served on the founding board of directors. She has also served on the Coeur d’Alene Education Partnership board of directors and is a member of the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations. Gissel was previously the executive director of the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation. She served as an advocate for education through her K-12 teaching, and was president of the Coeur d’Alene Leadership Class of 2015.
“We could not have asked for a better fit for this role than Greta. Her ideas and energy and love for this community are infectious,” said CDA 2030 board chair Maren Maier, in the release. “On behalf of the board of directors, we can’t wait to see the exciting and meaningful work she and her team will bring to the organization.”
Current CDA 2030 priority projects include regional housing and affordability, Project Neighborly grants and Coeur d’Alene Lake health education.
