Marilyn Ward, 91
Marilyn Ward was born Jan. 1, 1931, to John and Henryetta (Parker) Ward in Bonne Terre, Mo. In her youth, she lived in Missouri, Illinois and California.
She was united in marriage to Dick Craven. Their union was blessed with two children, Michael and Marta “Jill.” She later married Joseph Farias. This union was blessed with a daughter, Tanya.
Marilyn raised her children in Agua Dulce, Calif., where she owned and operated a small grocery store. She then continued her education and attained a degree in nursing and worked in health care. Following her career in nursing, she enjoyed the independence of working as a rural mail carrier. She lived in San Diego and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in December 2020. Marilyn died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at her home in Coeur d’Alene at the age of 91 years.
Marilyn enjoyed live music, reading, flowers, her beloved cat, Chloe, and time spent with her family.
Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Craven of Van Nuys, Calif.; daughter Jill (and Randy) Ragan of Hayden, Idaho; Five grandchildren, Jeff, Nathan and Cody Ragan, Andrew Craven and Megan (nee Craven) Daley; six great-grandchildren, Julianna, Elsie, Silas, Brynley, Gwyneth and Cora; brother Tom (and Janet) Ward of California; half-brother John Horace Ward Jr. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanya; parents John and Henryetta; brothers Marty and John Ward; and a half-sister, Janet.
