NIC ELECTION: Vote Broschet, Corkill and Zimmerman

| October 19, 2022 1:00 AM

What does working 30 years at North Idaho College teach you? It’s simple. Our community college is a critical educational and cultural hub for Idaho’s five northern counties. Yet, it currently faces potentially unretractable harm.

Thus, the Nov. 8 NIC board of trustee election is a critical time in the college’s 89-year history. What’s at stake? Accreditation of the school that could be lost if the candidates sharing the same mindset of the former board chair win. Accreditation loss means college credits earned by students won’t transfer seamlessly to other colleges. Dual enrollment, where high school students get a leg up on earning college credits saving both money and time earning a college degree…would become worthless if credits don’t transfer.

The candidates sharing the former board’s mindset didn’t bother to show up at the recent Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce candidate forum. Brad Corkill, Pete Broschet and Tarie Zimmerman did, and they stood in the arena facing the questions. As conservatives, they stand firmly committed to ensuring that NIC remains in the forefront of providing the top-quality classes and programs.

Vote for the candidates that promise to show up for keeping NIC the great college it’s proven to be for decades.
