Bonners Ferry

BONNERS FERRY — An ace by Aubrey Lane sealed the visiting Bulldogs’ 25-14, 25-23, 25-18 win over the Badgers in nonleague play.

"It was a good night," Sandpoint coach Karen Alsager said. "They didn't let up. They had passion. They were talking and communicating. So it was good."

Vivian Platte led the Bulldogs (2-11) with 16 kills and three blocks. Amaya Russell added 16 digs, Hailey Swaim 32 assists.

"It's fun seeing Vivian develop into such a hidden weapon," Alsager said. "She's just cleanly hitting her blocks with such power. Just really, really advancing a lot in our volleyball game. It's just exciting to see."

Statistics for Bonners Ferry (10-7) were unavailable.

"These girls have some grit and they've got effort. So I'm very pleased with how they played," Bonners Ferry coach Cynthia Cummings said.

Sandpoint hosts Kellogg on Tuesday.

Bonners Ferry (10-7) travels to Timberlake for an Intermountain League match on Thursday.

St. Maries d.

Wallace

ST. MARIES — Lily Daniel had 34 assists, four aces and a block as the host Lumberjacks swept the Miners 25-16, 25-13, 26-24 in nonleague play.

Tayla Janssen and Ava Stancil each had seven kills for St. Maries (14-6). Taci Watkins had six kills and four aces, Mia Asbury and Stacie Mitchell six kills each, Berkli McGreal eight digs for the Lumberjacks, who beat Wallace in four sets in late August.

“We still had a little bit of a slow start, but overall was a solid match with good ball movement to all hitting positions,” St. Maries coach Rachele Fischer said. “A pretty even kill contribution from all five hitters, with either six or seven from each of them. I like seeing that it doesn’t matter to them who earns the point, but that a point is a point and they are all able to contribute.

Wallace (8-6) plays host to Scenic Idaho Conference-leading Genesis Prep on Thursday.

St. Maries plays host to Priest River on Tuesday.

Orofino d.

Kellogg

OROFINO — Maddie Cheney had nine kills, seven blocks and two aces for the Wildcats, who fell to the Maniacs 21-25, 27-25, 26-24, 25-13 in a Central Idaho League match.
