NIC: Elect Zimmerman, Corkill and Broschet

| October 5, 2022 1:00 AM

The arrival of absentee and mail-in ballots this week begins our sacred process of voting — the basis of our republic and democracy. I want to focus on my preferred candidates for the NIC Trustee election. It is imperative that we elect the most qualified and committed candidates to stop the downhill slide of NIC, its programs and reputation that have been under attack.

In researching the candidates, my criteria have been folks who are thoughtfully conservative, most competent and critical thinkers. Public service and length of time as residents are also important. Lastly is to consider those organizations that endorse which candidates. Are they interested in the public good or partisan ideology?

Without hesitation, I believe that Tarie Zimmerman, Brad Corkhill and Pete Broschet pass my test of preferred choices. For those of you who aren’t registered or not inclined to vote, please get registered and vote. The future of NIC depends on it.
