Beverly Jeannine Baskett, 92

Beverly Jeannine Baskett was born Oct. 1, 1929, to Lewis and Elnora (Hayes) Laws in Havelock, Neb. She grew up in Havelock and graduated from Havelock High School. She was married to James Baskett Jr., and the marriage was blessed with eight children: Perry, William (aka Willy), Alex, Glen, Michael, Janet, Sharon and James III. Jeannine was a stay-at-home mother and was committed to the care of the home and family. The family made several moves to various communities, including Washington, Oregon, California and Alaska. Jeannine moved to North Idaho in 2007. She died peacefully Sept. 23, 2022, at Schneidmiller Hospice House at the age of 92 years.

Jeannine enjoyed sewing, crochet, knitting, pottery, gardening, old movies and time spent with family. She had a great sense of humor.

Jeannine is lovingly remembered by her children, Perry Baskett of Nenana, Alaska, Alex Baskett of Wenatchee, Wash., Michael Baskett (and Mary Ellen) of Nenana, Alaska, Janet (and Mark) Miller of Hayden, Idaho, and James Baskett III of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Jeff, Bobby and Amy Baskett, Roseann Hasty, Crystal Ann and Ashley Baskett, Sierra and Michael Jackson; numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Johnson of New York; and brother, Jack “Corky” Laws. She was preceded in death by children Sharon in 1963, Glen in 1973 and Willy; four brothers; and three sisters.

Blessed and eternal be the memory of Beverly Jeannine Baskett.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Hayden, Idaho, at 373 E. Hayden Avenue. Interment will be at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are provided by Yates Funeral Home. Online registry and condolences may be found at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
