Cd'A, Lakeland schools to close for snow
Schools will be closed in the Coeur d'Alene and Lakeland school districts.
The school districts notified parents of the closures early Tuesday evening.
Although not common practice, school officials made the call early based on the heavy snowfall expected to occur Tuesday night into Wednesday.
"The timing of this storm raises unique safety concerns with transportation for both morning and afternoon commute times," the Coeur d'Alene message to families said. "Forecasts indicate we may see as much as 10 inches of snow tomorrow. Our primary concern is the afternoon commute home for buses, student and family drivers and students who walk."
Post Falls School District will make its decision in the morning, Superintendent Dena Naccarato told The Press.
