The last few years have presented many ups and downs. Tumultuous events, both local and national, have resulted in division and unrest for many people. Yet, it is often through our most difficult challenges where the most growth and healing can occur. One of the most powerful tools to fuel this recovery is gratitude. We at the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber have so much to be thankful for. And in times like these, this is what distinguishes us and our incredible community that we hold so dear.

You may have heard of, or perhaps implemented, your own gratitude journal. An abundance of research shows the physical and mental health benefits of doing so, but did you know that receiving expressions of gratitude can trigger helpful behaviors toward others? Imagine the impact on our community if our words and actions of gratitude sparked others to be kinder, more forgiving, more helpful — these small actions have the power to heal, and we witness this every single day.

During this time of thanksgiving, we want to share a few of the things we are grateful for.

Our community

The Chamber intentionally focuses on the many things that unite us. We care about honoring and valuing each other. We enjoyed this opportunity recently at our Annual Women’s Luncheon where nearly 400 women gathered to hear inspiring and empowering messages from Amberley Snyder and Elaine Damschen. These shared experiences, and others like them, are what makes this community unique and magical, and we’re thankful for that!

Our volunteers

It is often said that joining our chamber is like joining a family. Whether serving on our board, in our committees, at events or in our Visitors Center, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community together. We stand for each other. Together we aim to provide the right resources and to connect you with the right people to help your business to succeed.

Spread the gratitude!

Our 110th Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet will be Dec. 15. This special evening provides a unique opportunity to acknowledge, honor and celebrate all that we are thankful for this year.

Each year at this event, we recognize outstanding individuals and organizations who have made a significant impact in our community. Please take a moment to show your gratitude by nominating your favorite volunteer, citizen, committee, nonprofit, small business and large business of the year. Email your nominations to: connect@cdachamber.com noting that nominees must be chamber members.

As the holidays approach, we invite you to keep the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber in your plans. There are some excellent events on the calendar that you won’t want to miss, so please go to business.cdachamber.com to register.
