Charlotte Ann Miller was born July 31, 1941, in Rice Lake, Wis., to Clifford and Marian (Meyers) Karlgaard. She was taken to God’s presence Oct. 31, 2022, after a very brief illness.

Charlotte grew up in Cameron, Wis. She graduated from Cameron High School in 1959. She moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where she received training from IBM, starting a long career in data entry, spanning perforated cards to computers.

In 1964, Charlotte married Wayne Skaalrud. They moved west in 1967, to Auburn, Wash., then to Milpitas, Calif., in 1969. She and Wayne divorced in 1994. Larry Miller came into her life in 1995. They moved to Livermore, Calif., in 2008, and were married formally in 2016. She retired in 2008. In 2017, she and Larry moved to North Idaho, where her family had been firmly established since 1971. They made their home in Hayden.

Charlotte had a deep faith and trusted God to guide her life. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Charlotte loved the Minnesota Vikings and had great fondness for the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors, more lately following Gonzaga basketball. She grew beautiful flowers and tomatoes. Through the years, she nurtured her beloved dogs, Casey and Sophie, and Niko the cat. She was always laughing, especially while hanging out with family and friends. She was truly loved by all who knew her. Charlotte was filled with kindness, love and light.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, at home. She is also survived by her siblings: Bob (Judy) Karlgaard; Nancy (Steve) Lounsbury; Brad (Linda) Karlgaard; and Kathy (Bob) Janssen. She loved her nieces and nephews: Laurie (Jim) Troemel; Mike (Kristi) Karlgaard; Pam Quinn; Jennifer (Randy) Kramer; Kelli (Kelly) Milbraith; David (Chelsea) Karlgaard; Nick (Nova) Raiser; Aimee (Chris) Hoffman; Robert (Neva) Janssen; and Anton (Miranda) Janssen. She is also survived by numerous great- and great-great nieces and nephews, for whom she always had time. And she is survived by her dear lifelong friends Judy and Harriet.

Rest in Peace, sweet Charlotte.
