Peters, a senior, won the state 5A girls cross country race in a course record 16 minutes, 56.07 seconds at the Lewis-Clark State Course on Saturday, becoming the first Trojan female to win an individual cross country title. “Her preparation for today was outstanding during the preseason and the entire year,” Post Falls coach Brian Trefry said. “She’d learned so much over the last three years. She really understood what she needed to do to get there.”
