QUOTE: The accurate source

| May 25, 2022 1:00 AM

To set the record straight, when Jim Addis recently lost his re-election bid, he quoted Henry Ford and said, “Never complain, never explain.”

Actually, the quote is from Henry Ford the 2nd, or Hank the Deuce as he was known in Detroit back then. He was Henry Ford’s grandson. He spoke that quote after a drunk driving arrest in Santa Barbara, Calif., after he was caught with a younger woman, who was not his wife.

Finally, my research shows that the quote is actually attributed to Benjamin Disraeli, the British statesman.

As a former Detroiter and “car guy,” this was a big scandal in the city. Fact Check: True
