MANTEUFFEL: Earned wide support

As an emergency physician, EMS medical director and a local citizen concerned about the wellness of our community, I am writing to highlight why the position of County Coroner is important and should be thoughtfully considered with a vote for Dr. Mark Manteuffel.

Death and the topic of the coroner is not a subject we normally like to dwell upon though this office plays a pivotal role in decision making after people important to our lives pass away.

Dr. Mark Manteuffel is a U.S. Air Force veteran who is locally recognized for his decades of service at the Kootenai Health ER. Irrespective of the day or time, his steadfast presence in the ER confronting injury and disease is an emblem of his commitment to this community.

It is additionally a hallmark of the relationships he has established with other clinicians, administrators and law enforcement central to the role of coroner. His endorsement by the North Idaho Republicans, the CDA Firefighter Local 710, Northern Lakes Fire District, former Sheriff Ben Wolfinger and Dr. Keene, the current coroner, is a noteworthy indication of the confidence which his level of professionalism embodies.
