Justin Dallas "Herbie" Demmig

Justin Dallas Demmig passed away peacefully, on Thursday, March 10, 2022, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Justin was born in Everett, Wash., on April 10, 1991. He moved several times making lifetime impressions and friends everywhere he called home.

In 2018, Justin met the loves of his life, Brittany Merriman and her daughter Ella Woodruff, which brought him back to Idaho where they settled together as a family in Post Falls. His adventurous, fearless spirit meant that he enjoyed so many things: family/friend time spent outdoors, hiking, snowmobiling, dirt-biking, fishing, camping, traveling, at hockey matches and road trips are some of our favorite memories spent with him.

He was an incredible and humble self-taught musician, writing all of his own music and lyrics; performing spontaneous and intimate sessions for those who surrounded him. He had the ability to light up a room and brighten anyone's mood with his sense of humor and quick wit. His love of dogs and their human companions was generous. Whatever he applied himself to, he committed with all of his great big heart. These things will never be forgotten by those of us he touched.

He is survived by his partner, Brittany, daughter Ella; father Rick (Angie) Demmig; mother Shawna (Charles) Cleary, Darla Merriman, Alice "Oma” Demmig, Janet "Amma” Elmore, siblings, Trista (Mat) Greenwood, Natasha Foxley, Nathan (Catherine) Demmig and Caitlyn Cleary. Aunts Irene "Aunt B" (Uncle Brad) Lougheed, Holly Bruns, Valerie (Uncle Larry) Bradford, as well as cousins, his nephew Landon James Demmig, and many more friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by Mike "Bampa" Elmore, Herbert "Opa” Demmig, and Ruth "Grams" Sheahan.

There will be a celebration of life for Justin's friends and family on May 1, 2022, at Moondollars Bistro in Twin Lakes at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Justin's lifetime of generosity by loving freely, hugging spontaneously, and laughing openly on as many occasions as you possibly can.
