Developing next generation leaders
On March 8, the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber was joined by local leader, Robb Bloem, at our monthly Upbeat Breakfast. Members and guests learned about the value of leadership from this local visionary, who truly develops and invests in his workforce.
“Our biggest asset is our employees. We do a lot of training in house, encouraging employees to become better leaders and then hire from within,” said Robb Bloem, CEO, StanCraft Companies.
StanCraft’s investment in leadership development is something that we wholeheartedly support. In fact, we just celebrated the achievements of our own Leadership Coeur d’Alene graduates on Feb. 28. These 26 leaders were selected among several qualified applicants. They have invested one day a month for the last nine months, fully immersed in learning about our community, top challenges, and top opportunities from great leaders representing a wide variety of industries in our region.
This program has been around for decades. We’ve seen much success in watching our graduates take their experiences and turn them into significant contributions to our community. We are excited to continue to build on this success, in fact, the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber is working towards improving every facet of every program that we offer. And in order to develop these next generation leaders, we need your help!
Calling All Business Leaders!
Are you a retired business leader that wants to give back to the community? Are you a current business leader with a passion to mentor others? We’re looking for your expertise!
In 2022, we’re working to add new elements to our Leadership Coeur d’Alene program:
1) Leadership Skills: Each class will begin with a new 30-minute segment on leadership skills.
2) New Mentorship Program: One-on-one coaching is invaluable and we’re looking to match each student with a qualified leader who is excited to help.
3) Satisfaction Surveys: We listen and value feedback! This year brings our first ever effort at capturing quantitative feedback to help us continually improve our program.
Taking time to develop our workforce has the potential to drive a profound return on our investment. We are looking to cultivate community-minded leaders that will affect positive change here at home. We have big issues to tackle together, and we need YOU. Please consider sharing your time and wisdom with the next generation. We’re recruiting mentors today!
If you’re interested in becoming an individual mentor to one of our Leadership Coeur d’Alene class members, contact Brenda Young, VP of Programs, at 208-415-0110 or brenda@cdachamber.com.
Our mission is truly our members. Each month, we will highlight a different Insider Advantage. This is our opportunity to showcase our mission in action. For March, we’re focusing on leadership! Developing next generation leaders is important, and providing our business community the opportunity to hear from our region’s leaders is equally valuable. Join us this month:
