You'll have to come inside to get a feel for the outdoors with this show, but it will be worth it for fans of soft landscapes, joyful pastels and aviation.

The Priscilla Patterson Exhibit, which opened Thursday, will be hanging in the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls for viewers to enjoy through the end of April.

The show features the work of Post Falls resident Priscilla Patterson, an oil and watercolor artist.

Patterson’s main medium is watercolor and she enjoys plein air (outdoor) painting and is a member of the Plein Air Painters of Idaho and the Idaho Watercolor Society. She currently has work hanging in the Idaho State Capitol in Boise as part of the Capitol Rotunda Art Show.

The show, which opened on March 10, is Patterson’s first solo show.

Some of Patterson's work features airplanes. Patterson is an Artist Fellow member of the American Society of Aviation Artists and serves as education chair, as reflected in her art. She is also a member of the Canadian Aviation Artists Association, Coast Guard and Air Force art programs and is a certified law enforcement artist.

Patterson has won numerous awards and honors from the American Society of Aviation Artists, Simuflite and Aviation Week and Space Technology. In 2012 she received the ASAA Luther Y. Gore Distinguished Service Award. Her website is PriscillaPatterson.com.

Gallery hours through April 29 are Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment.
