Courtesy photo The Timbers North FC 03/04 Boys Red soccer participated in the USYS National League Showcase over the weekend in Mesa, Ariz. On Friday the Timbers lost to Cook Inlet 04B (Alaska) 2-0. On Saturday they lost to Grande Sports Academy Barca 04B (Arizona) 6-2. Otto Geilenfeldt and Noah Janzen each had one goal for the Timbers, and Evan Darling and Joseph Sarkis each had one assist. On Sunday the Timbers defeated Michigan Rush Lansing 03B 2-1. Otto Geilenfeldt and Noah Janzen each had one goal and one assist in the win. Photo by MELISSA SAMAYOA The 2006 Timbers North FC boys soccer team traveled to Mesa, Ariz., with the other TNFC high school club teams to attend the USYS National League, Arizona Showcase at Bell Bank Park by Legacy Sports. The event provides exposure for those wishing to play soccer at the next level, and had college coaches in attendance. The Timbers 06 boys kicked off Friday night with a 1-0 win over NEFC ’06 NL Elite out of Massachusetts. Goalkeeper Benji Deming had the shutout and Connor Jump had the goal, assisted by Pierce McDermott. On Saturday, the Timbers lost to Michigan Central 06 Academy-Liverpool. Connor Jump and Jacob Molina each scored once for the Timbers. On Sunday, the Timbers played to a 3-3 draw with La Roca FC- Utah. Jacob Molina had two goals for the Timbers, Bryant Donovan one, assisted by Henry Barnes.
