NIC: Report the crimes

| March 11, 2022 1:00 AM

This letter is in response to the front-page article regarding NIC trustee. The majority of this letter is not about the fight between board members. I am tired of the fact that almost every time there is an article regarding this problem, Ms. Wood repeats the alleged incident of “physically threatening and verbally abusive behavior from Banducci.”

Also, continually being reported in the paper is the alleged incident described by Mr. MacLennan of his eye witness account “of Banducci’s physical assault of a female college employee at a college-sponsored event on December 20, 2019.”

My question, Ms. Wood, even though I believe you were retired from the CPD at the time of your alleged incident with Mr. Banducci, if you believed a crime was committed, WHY DIDN’T YOU REPORT SAID CRIME TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES?

Also, Ms. Wood, if you were aware of the alleged incident witnessed by Mr. MacLennan, WHY DIDN’T YOU REPORT IT TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES? Especially since it was called a “physical assault” and most people realize that is a crime.

Even though he has said he didn’t “recognize the interaction for what it was,” he probably told a number of individuals, including you. Again, WHY WASN’T IT REPORTED?

As a former Law Enforcement Officer, and the apparent way you handled both of these incidents, YOU should resign!

Here’s a thought: ALL NIC trustees resign. Maybe we could then elect trustees with NO connection to HREI, KCTFHR, KCRCC or IFF — only those with NIC’s best interest at heart!

None of the above “alphabets” should have any say in the running of NIC.
