The North Idaho College board of trustees scheduled a special meeting to interview trustee candidates for Zone 5.

In the special board meeting on Tuesday night, rather than narrow down finalists, the board decided to interview all candidates at the April 6 meeting, starting at 6 p.m.

Board chair Todd Banducci said he would like to interview all the candidates in person as he thought it would give them a better grasp of all candidates rather than selecting a few to interview from the written responses the board received.

However, the number of candidates was narrowed to 10 as applicant Susan Overholser did not submit a written response to the questions put out by trustees.

The remaining candidates are Ann Hardt, Eric Shanley, Geoff Newman, Harry Amend, Michael Waggoner, Nina Beesley, Pete Broschet, Robert Blansfield and Timothy Plass.

College attorney Mark Lyons will provide a procedure sheet for the interviews to each candidate. Candidates can choose if they wish to make opening and closing statements and will be allowed up to 15 minutes for the interview, statements included.

The next regular meeting of the board is March 23. Interviews were moved to a special meeting so all trustees and the interim president could attend in person as there were event overlaps.
