PUBLIC SAFETY: Idaho does it right

| June 19, 2022 1:00 AM

Here in Idaho — Coeur d'Alene — we do it right. When there is a forewarning of a riot, we come prepared.

We all agree, Donald Trump is no "Ronald Reagan" when it comes to diplomacy, but when president, he had the savvy to act when it became obvious via news media that there would be protestors on Jan. 6. On Jan. 4 — he ordered 1,500 National Guard to protect the Capital — just in case.

It was an order by President Trump that was canceled by Nancy Pelosi — a hate that violence doesn't belong in government.

Opening up on TV, the Democrat-controlled House Select Committee to investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was pretty, slightly built Caroline Edwards, one of five capital police who was injured.

Why was there only five, one a woman, assigned to protect instead of strong-armed men (like in Coeur d'Alene), when news media warned of it days before?

Testimony went on and on always ending with what a bad guy Trump is. It gets boring and monotonous.

If anything that will destroy our American Democracy, it will be dirty politics and inflation that will have the middle class living on the street.
