Golf lessons: Registration is underway, and will run through June 15 or until full for the Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department youth golf camp for ages 5-8.

The camp is fun and instructional in nature. Two sessions are offered. There is limited registration. The first session will begin on June 21; the second session will begin July 12.

Classes are held twice a week for three weeks. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Person Field, 15th and Garden Avenue. All equipment is provided. Registration fee is $55.

The team played four games against Flathead SC Green, Kootenai Rapids, Flathead Black, and the Sandpoint Strikers, winning all of them to take first place in the U11 Silver bracket. Timbers goals were scored by Charlie McVey, Ryder Quinn, Kannon Foreman, Max Lopez, Nolan Rice, Kolby Johnson, Lucas Buscema, Bode Barton and Owen Newby. Damon Mysse and Kolby Johnson were goalkeepers with multiple saves. Courtesy photo The Timbers North FC 2009 boys red soccer team took third place in the U13 boys division at the recent Idaho State Cup at Simplot Sports Complex in Boise, earning a spot at the USYS Presidents Cup in Phoenix, Arizona, June 15-19. In Game 1 on Friday, May 27, the Timbers beat PFC Elite 3-0. Goals were scored by Taylor Smith, Ethan Luna on a PK, and Kason Foreman assisted by Ethan Luna. Stefan Pawlik had the shutout in goal. In Game 2 on Saturday, May 28, the Timbers lost 5-0 to the Boise Timbers. In Game 3 that day, the Timbers North beat Inferno Copa 1-0. Ethan Luna scored the goal with an assist by Kason Foreman. Grant Johnson had the shutout in goal. In the semifinal game on Sunday, May 29, the Timbers North lost 2-1 to Idaho Rush 09 Black. Blake Wise scored on a PK for the Timbers, and Grant Johnson had five saves in goal. In the consolation game later that day, the Timbers North beat the Sandpoint Strikers FC Longanecker 1-0. The goal was scored by Luke Fritts with an assist by Grant Johnson. Grant Johnson and Stefan Pawlik shared time in goal for the shutout. In the first game vs. Missoula Surf the Timbers won 8-2 with goals scored by Maddex Arana (2), Aiden Mojzis (2), Carter Mitchell (2), Nolan Bode and Maverick Sargent. The second game the Timbers fell 5-3 to the Missoula Strikers. Mojzis scored two of the Timbers' three goals, and Arana had the third goal. In the final game the Timbers beat the Sandpoint Strikers 1-0, with Brody Brennan assisting Mitchell on the game's lone goal. Sargent and Tate teamed for the shutout in goal to wrap up the team's spring season.
