ILLEGAL FIREWORKS: Shouldn’t be in neighborhoods

| July 29, 2022 1:00 AM

I agree wholeheartedly with the two previous writers decrying the use of illegal fireworks in our neighborhoods over the Fourth of July holiday.

I live on N. Fourth Street above Appleway, and this year the booming began on July 1 and ended on July 5. On the 4th, I was outside in my pajamas with a flashlight and checking the roof!

Our street is a lovely tree-lined street of single-family homes, apartments buildings and senior homes, formerly a fairly quiet 35 mph speed limit, no drag racing, etc. A “normal” street. The traffic, noise, fumes and speeds are now out of hand, and the fireworks seem to increase each year, as well.

Please think of our veterans as well as our canine companions and go to the lake for fireworks!
