LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL

Lewiston defeated Coeur d'Alene 10-0 on Sunday to win the 12U division of the Idaho District 1 tournament at Canfield Sports Complex in Coeur d'Alene.

Earlier, Coeur d'Alene won the 11U district title, and Lewiston captured the 10U district crown.

All three teams advance to the state best-of-3 playoffs vs. the District 2 champions this weekend in Lewiston. In 11U, it's Coeur d'Alene vs. North Boise; in 10U and 12U, it's Lewiston vs. West Valley.

Post Falls won the Juniors (13U) district title. With no Juniors all-star teams in District 2 (Boise area), Post Falls advances directly to regionals in Bend, Ore.

COEUR d'ALENE RECREATION

Fall youth soccer: The Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department announces registration for youth fall soccer for all boys and girls grades K (or age 5) through eighth grade.

Registration will be held Aug. 1–12. Registration can be done online at www.teamsideline.com/CDAID or in person at the office, located at 710 Mullan Ave., in the lower level of Coeur d’Alene City Hall. The league will start in mid-September and run through the end of October.

Registration fees are $20 for Coeur d’Alene city residents and $30 for non-city residents.

Flag football: Registration for fall flag football for second- and third-graders will take place Aug. 1-24.

Practices and games will begin after Labor Day. Cost is $20 for Coeur d'Alene residents and $30 for non-residents. Registration can be done online www.teamsideline.com/CDAID or in person at the office at 710 Mullan Ave. in the lower level of Coeur d’Alene City Hall.
