U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup: Thorns fall on second day of U15 pool play

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Thorns North Fc 2007 girls red soccer team lost 3-1 to WVFC of West Virginia on Friday in their second game of U15 girls group play at the U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup.
Trailing 2-0 in the second half, Natalie Thompson scored an unassisted goal for the Thorns to cut the lead in half. Pushing hard going forward for the remainder of the game while looking for the equalizer, the Thorns eventually gave up another goal.
The Thorns (1-1 in pool play) face South Dakota (2-0) today at 5 a.m. PDT, needing a win to have a chance to go to the final.
