U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup: Thorns FC girls win U15 opener

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Marisol Stosich scored two goals as the Thorns North FC 2007 girls red soccer team opened play at the U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup with a 2-1 win over Storm FC out of North Texas on Thursday in U15 play.
Stosich’s first goal came 25 minutes into the first half and was assisted by Jamie Lawrence. After the Storm tied the game early in the second half, Libby Morrisroe fought hard to win the ball from a Storm defender and found Stosich for the game winner with 10 minutes to go.
The Thorns play West Virginia today at 9:30 a.m. PDT as group play continues.
