Tamara "Tammy" Lynn Allen
Tammy was born Jan. 5, 1959, in Spokane, Wash., to Jim and Gloria Blaine.
While Gloria fought MS, Tammy lived back and forth between her maternal grandfather “riding the railroad” and at Twin Lakes with her Blaine family before eventually settling there.
When Tammy was six Gloria passed away and she continued to live with her Blaine family at the resort with her beloved grandmother. Her dad married Sylvia when Tammy was seven and moved to Arizona for a year before moving back to Twin Lakes where she lived until graduating from high school.
She moved to Sun Valley/Ketchum area and while working at a ski resort met Kraig Allen. On August 29, 1981, she married Kraig Allen at her parents’ home on Upper Twin Lakes. They moved to Lewiston where they bought their first home.
Her daughter Erika Lynne was born a few years after moving to Lewiston and four years later Kirk Eugene was born. They were her pride and joy.
She spent most of her years there working at First Security Bank, the Lewiston Tribune, but mostly raising her family. During her time in Lewiston, she was very busy and made many friends bowling, including couples’ leagues and cheering Kraig in his softball league for many years.
In the early 1990’s Kraig took a new job which brought the family to Post Falls where they continued to raise their children. Tammy was an avid bowler and continued this passion in Post Falls where she made many new friends. In between work and bowling you would find Tammy taking her kids to the various activities they were involved in. She was very devoted to her children and any extra money she saved went to ensuring they had what they needed and more.
After retiring from the Post Falls School District due to her MS, Tammy and Kraig moved to a condo on the fairway of hole #6 at Twin Lakes Village where she loved watching the waterfowl in the pond out her window and the occasional moose run across the golf course. Her grandkids were the light of her life, always there swimming, playing, and hopping on her lap for a ride on her wheelchair. Alongside her years of bowling her kids and grandkids were the passion in her life.
She is survived by her husband, Kraig Allen; her daughter, Erika (Bryan); son, Kirk (Mary); grandchildren: Kyren, Syris, James and Kaelyn; her parents, Jim and Sylvia and mother-in-law JoAnn; her siblings, Katy (Rob), Sean, Rial (Christine); sister’s in-law, Cindy and Terrie; nephews, Kristopher (Shelby), Finnan, Christian; and niece, Kaitlyn. Tammy was blessed with a large and loving family and has many aunts, uncles, co00⁰usins and friends all whom she loved greatly.
She was the most courageous, strong and loving woman ever, despite battling progressive MS for over 20 years and remained the most positive person you would meet through every trial she faced. She always cared more about everyone in her life than about letting MS get her down; the ultimate teacher of true love and heart. Heaven received the most beautiful soul for an angel, full of strength, endurance and unconditional love.
