Tax-Aide sessions start today

Tax prep sessions are about to commence.

Volunteers with the free AARP tax assistance program Tax-Aide will begin working on tax documents today.

Taxpayers are asked to pick up packets and fill out forms once they have made an appointment. Trained tax counselors will receive the tax documents and prepare them outside the taxpayer's presence. Taxpayers need to be available by phone during tax return preparation.

Upon completion, taxpayers will review their tax returns with a certified counselor and sign documents.

All sessions are by appointment only. No walk-ins will be accepted.

At Lake City Center, 1916 N. Lakewood Drive, hours for tax help will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are limited. Phone: 208-667-4628.

At the Rathdrum Senior Center, 8037 Montana St., hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Phone: 208-659-2464.

Hayden Senior Center, 9428 N. Government Way, will hold appointments Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Phone: 208-255-0337.

The Kellogg Tax-Aide center will hold appointments Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Phone: 208-786-9010.
