Cabaret at The Art Spirit Gallery

| January 28, 2022 1:00 AM

Drawn Together Arts is collaborating with The Art Spirit Gallery to present “Crazy in Love: A Devised Cabaret From the Heart.”

A new theatrical work, the show is full of top hits from rock to musicals to folk in a one-of-a-kind production formed by three regional performing professionals.

“‘Crazy In Love’ is inspired by the three great interpretive singers who star in this Valentine's Day piece of perfection as each gives their own personal story of love through song,” said David Garbarkewitz, director and former New York City opera resident director.

The title of the cabaret is inspired by the songs ending act one and starting act two: Queen's “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and the Patsy Cline classic, “Crazy.”

Other songs include “Fever,” “She Loves Me,” and Al Green’s “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.”

Performers include Bobbi Kotula, an award-winning musical theater artist based in Seattle, Wash.; Michael Strauss, an LA-based performer and film actor; and Duncan Clark Menzies, a local performer and artist.

The show is accompanied by piano director of the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint and Coeur d’Alene, Matt Goodrich.

Show dates are Feb. 11 through 14 with the show on Feb. 12 sold out. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 11, 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, and 7 p.m. on Feb. 14.

Tickets are $30 at www.drawntogetherarts.com.
