ARPA: Council didn’t listen

| January 23, 2022 1:00 AM

“Truth be Told” but not listened to at the Jan. 18 City Council meeting regarding accepting the American Rescue Plan Act funds. Tom Shafer’s call for a show of hands against accepting the funds reports about 75 people were against accepting it. Many people voiced their opinions why they were against it.

Mayor Jim Hammond attempted to silence public comment against the rescue funds, possibly because he didn’t want to allow a pattern of disapproval? Clearly a violation of the First Amendment.

Councilman Dan English said he didn’t hear anything to change his mind. Did he have his hearing aids turned on? Was his vision distorted with the show of hands? Although this meeting was reported being civil, with no signs of violence or threats made, why did Dan feel the need to be escorted out by three police officers?

Christie Wood hasn’t changed her mind. It is obvious that these Council members need to be recalled. They don’t represent the people.

Legal paperwork was referenced that stated ARPA funds are contingent on adhering to Executive Order from the president. We all know what Biden’s 77 executive orders have done to this country. He is a puppet for the 2030 agenda which has been in play for some time.

Thank you Councilman Dan Gookin. Your comments were the only “Truth be Told” that came from this meeting. You will be well remembered at the polls, and so will all the others who voted for this nefarious government money.
