REBUTTAL: It was a riot

This is a brief response to a letter written to the Coeur d’Alene Press by Mary Smith last week.

Her comments that the riot was peaceful must be one of the most baseless, fact-free and unhinged letters I have read in some time. And, like nearly every Trump supporter I know, she makes it painfully obvious that she has not watched even 5 minutes of the most recorded riot in human history.

Her further claim that Antifa or BLM was involved only strengthens the case that, 1) she has succumbed to the mindless assault on truth by Fox News and Newsmax, and 2) there is a high probability that Ms. Smith has no idea whatsoever what those acronyms actually refer to.

To those who lament the division in our nation right now, I can only say that people like Ms. Smith and the extreme right propaganda machine are the root causes of it.
