Noggins and narratives: An official hat-tip
The small brown box was shipped to Mike Patrick, CDA Press, 215 N. 2nd St.
It was light enough to contain ricin, hate mail, dead cockroaches — you name it.
But on top was a note etched in black marker:
Coeur d’Alene Press
Mike Patrick
Sholeh Patrick
Bill Buley
Kaye Thornbrugh
Merry Christmas!
Food for thought…
Hats were also given to NIC Bd Trustees, opportune time to change the narrative.
-Fred Gabourie
Sure enough, a similar note, dated 1-18-2022, was also included.
To Bd of Trustees
Todd Banducci
Greg McKenzie
Christie Wood
Ken Howard
Merry Christmas!
My gift to you
Food for thought….
-Fred Gabourie
As you can see by the attached photo, the gift of nifty hats was inside. While the hats are appreciated, the message underlying MAKE PEACE GREAT AGAIN resonated even more.
Change the narrative, Mr. Gabourie suggests, making it easy to infer that the two groups receiving hats are gently being nudged to put down their arms and figure out how better to work together.
That is indeed food for thought, particularly if it means more open communication is desired for the college’s and community’s good. And if not? Well, eight craniums of varying degrees of beauty just acquired some nice, free lids.
Thanks, Fred.
