NIC: Praise for Press

| January 16, 2022 1:00 AM

The editorial on Jan. 13, 2022, regarding the resignation of Michael Barnes from the NIC Board of Trustees was a masterpiece.

It calls out how the KCRCC has run roughshod over our community through its endorsements of candidates that are unqualified and unethical, promotion of an agenda that is destructive and visionless and marginalization of anyone not acceding to their distorted notions of freedom and “traditional American values.”

Despite numerous vitriolic and even dishonest attacks, The Press has been working diligently to ensure that a light is shone on the KCRCC’s nefarious activities so we, the voters, can make the informed decisions necessary to get our community back on track. It and its staff deserve our thanks and support.

The best way we can do that is to become engaged in the process. Be educated about the issues beyond just being able to parrot a particular view. Hold those who have been elected or seek to be elected to office accountable against the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Refuse to allow them to be nothing more than ideological puppets serving masters whose only goal is to further their own self-interests. Restore honorable leadership to our region.
