CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RATHDRUM NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Public Notice: Notice is hereby given that the Rathdrum City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 6:00 pm or shortly thereafter to take testimony for or against the proposed rezone/amendment to the City's Official Zoning Map. The public hearing will be held in the Council Chambers at Rathdrum City Hall, 8047 West Main Street, Rathdrum, Idaho 83858. Background: In accordance with RMC 11-10-2, application was received on September 2, 2021, to amend the City's Official Zoning Map (rezone). The application requests amending the zoning map to change the ruling zoning district for two separate parcels: 13975 N. Thayer St. (AIN 301713) and 13920 N. Thayer St. (AIN 301711), located on the NE and NW intersection of N. Thayer St. and W. Nagel Rd., respectively. The application requests a rezone from Industrial (I) to Residential (R-2S; Single-Family). Per the 2014 Comprehensive Plan, the Future Land Use designation was Light Industrial; however, the recently adopted 2021 Comprehensive Plan designates this property within the Future Land Use Map as Medium Density Residential (MDR). On November 10, 2021, in open session, the Rathdrum City Council denied the application. Applicants have petitioned the Rathdrum City Council for Reconsideration under IDAHO CODE 67-6535.
