Orbie Elmer Wells, 93, of Athol, Idaho, passed away in the comfort of home surrounded by his family on Feb. 9, 2022, in Rathdrum, Idaho.
Private graveside services will be held at noon, Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at the Seneacquoteen Cemetery.
Orbie Elmer Wells was born Aug. 6,1928, in Pendleton, Umatilla, Ore., to Orbie A. Wells and Erma M. (Dupuis) Wells. He grew up in Hermiston, Ore., then moved to Wieppe, Idaho, around 1943. He proudly served his country when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 1946 at the age of 17, where he served during World War II. He was part of the Bikini Atoll atomic bomb testing after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was Honorably Discharged in December of 1947. He worked for Asplundh as a tree expert for 30-35 years before retiring.
He had many adventures in his life. He enjoyed traveling, singing and yodeling, listening to his children play the fiddle, being outdoors and building tree forts and log cabins. He was a spiritual man and enjoyed reading his Bible.
He was a people person and could have a conversation with anyone. He was a kind and generous man who loved the Lord. He will be greatly missed and held in our hearts always.
Orbie is survived by his loving children, Randy, Terri and Connie from his first wife, Joyce. Cordell and Vickie from his second wife, Laverne. Sari, Gabe, Caleb and Isaac, from his third wife, Linda. Kelly, Kole and Kasey from his fourth wife, Cherry. Many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Naomi, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda, his sons, Vonell and Doneil from his wife, Laverne. His siblings Charles, Eugene, Juanita and Jo Eleanor.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For a part of us went with you, the day YHWH called you home.
