POST FALLS — This Fraternal Order of the Eagles is much more than a motorcycle club.

Members of Aerie 3682, 209 E. Railroad Ave. in Post Falls, are also devoted to supporting their community.

Every second Saturday they host a prime rib dinner to raise funds for charity. Open to the public, tickets are $15 and diners enjoy a prime rib, baked potato, roll, salad and dessert.

February and March proceeds will support children attending Camp Journey at Ross Point in Post Falls.

Camp Journey is exclusively for children who have or have had cancer. It's a place for them to forget about having cancer and focus on being kids. Per child, the cost is about $1,500.

“We try to choose different charities every time in this area,” Eagles Club President John Napier said.

In 2020, the Eagle Riders raised $2,431 for benefit Children’s Village, Toys for Tots, the John Baird Benefit and the Mike Victorino Benefit.

2021’s prime rib dinners raised $4,412, which went to North Idaho Youth Ranch, Children’s Village, Post Falls Parks & Recreation, Camp Journey, Toys for Tots and the Nicole McConnell Benefit.

“We do the dinners monthly and build up our fundage,” Secretary Cindy Jensen said. “Then we’ll delegate to a function or a benefit. You’ll see a couple of individuals that have had accidents or something and needed us. We’ve donated so their family members can stay in a hotel while they are in the hospital.”

The Eagles Club is open to the public. All members either ride motorcycles, are motorcycle passengers or operate the tracer car. A tracer car follows the motorcycles on a scenic ride. They carry a trailer in case of breakdowns.

February’s prime rib dinner takes place this Saturday at 5 p.m. Seating is limited and it’s recommended to purchase tickets ahead of time. Tickets can be purchased at the clubhouse or by calling 208-773-2923.
