Robert L. Dahlberg, 81

Robert L. Dahlberg was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Spokane, Wash., and passed away Jan. 30, 2022, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He is survived by his wife Carol of 49 years, a stepson and stepdaughter, his sister, Connie Dahlberg Montanye, Coeur d'Alene, his brother James Dahlberg, Bonners Ferry, and several nieces and nephews. His parents Clarence and Alice Dahlberg, and his brother, Bill Dahlberg, preceded him in death.

Bob attended his early education at a small one room school in Loff's Bay. Later, he went to Worley and then to Coeur d'Alene, where he was active in the band, to finish his education. He was a gifted musician joining the Navy band in 1959. From basic in San Diego he went to Wash. D.C. He received many honors while in the band and was often in a leadership position. His Navy days took him to Japan, Hawaii, Australia and many other ports. In 1963 he attended NIC and later U of I earning his master's in music. Bob taught music at the high school and college level for several years. He ended his career by writing retrieval hardware.

He and Carol spent 19 years in retirement in Afton, Wyo., in a beautiful home designed by his brother, Bill. In Afton, Bob enjoyed snowmobiling and four-wheeling.
