BUSING MIGRANTS: Different perspectives find different answers
Upon reading Sholeh Patrick's column, Dec. 27, my first reaction was, "Wow!" for all that she left unmentioned. All those migrants, unprepared for cold weather, shamefully bused from Texas to Washington D.C., where it was 18 degrees at the time, were sent by someone and received by someone. Clearly, many were involved, in one way or another, but those two have to be named.
Chief bad guy and perpetrator in this sorry business was Texas governor Greg Abbott, Republican.
Where the bus trip ended in D.C. was Amy Fischer, core organizer with the Migrant Solidarity Aid Network who, with her group, provided shelter, a warm meal and clothing. (All as reported by ABC News)
"Is this the American way?" Ms. Patrick asks. The answer to that may depend wholly on where you look and what you see.
