REGAN: Writing is disingenuous

Brent Regan writing about the dangers of bias is like a cobra writing about the dangers of snakebite. In the second to last paragraph of his article (Dec. 16) Regan uses the word “they” or “their” no less than 10 times. That’s a single paragraph.

Categorical interpretation based on your bias is the centerpiece of his article. The fact that the article itself is an example of the practice he is exposing as faulty is why I have consistently referred to Mr. Regan’s writing as disingenuous.

Regan’s attempts at the written word can be characterized in a single word: hubris. And we don’t need to overuse the word “they” to illustrate it. He has done that all by himself.
