PREP WRESTLING: Post Falls fourth after first day

COEUR d’ALENE — Post Falls, with four in the semifinals, are fourth with 135.5 points after the first day of the 51st Tri-State Invitational at North Idaho College, trailing leader Orting by 3.5 points.

Sophomore Rider Seguine (98 pounds), junior Tyson Barnhart (132), senior Gentry Smith (195) and senior Trevor Miller (220) advanced for the Trojans, who last won at Tri-State in 2019.

Lakeland sophomore Jaren Knopp (106), Lake City senior Zach Macdonald (113) and Coeur d’Alene senior Dax Larsen (138) also advanced to today’s semifinal round, scheduled to begin today at 10:15 a.m.

Coeur d’Alene, the defending champion, is tied for 24th with 49 points.
