Chorale Cd'A announces new Artistic Director
Joshua Chism is the new Artistic Director for Chorale Coeur d'Alene, and he'll be directing his first concert at 7 p.m. April 21 and 2 p.m. April 22.

Chorale Coeur d’Alene is delighted to announce Dr. Joshua Chism as their new Artistic Director, beginning with the Spring 2023 season.
Dr. Chism holds a PhD in Music Education with an emphasis in Conducting and Choral Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma and has directed choral ensembles at all age and experience levels to notable success. He is currently the Associate Director of Choral Studies and Coordinator of Music Education at Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash. Chism advises music education students, teaches choral music education and music history courses, and conducts the Ponderosa Tenor/Bass Choir. He also has a passion for music ministry and currently serves as the Director of Traditional Worship at Whitworth Presbyterian Church, where he conducts the adult choir and handbell choir.
Dr. Chism has selected a program around the theme of “critical mass.” The Spring 2023 concert will include major works by well-known composers Joseph Haydn (Little Organ Mass) and Gabriel Fauré (Messe Basse). In addition to other smaller choral works by John Rutter, Ola Gjelio, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and others, the concert will include A. Avalos’s little-known work, Mariachi Mass.
Chorale Coeur d’Alene invites singers from the region to audition for the Spring 2023 concert season. Auditions will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (501 E Wallace Ave, Coeur d'Alene) and Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m at Peace Lutheran Church (8134 N Meyer Rd, Post Falls).
