Beverly Wise, 90

| December 8, 2022 1:00 AM

Beverly Goldsberry Wise passed away in her home in La Center, Wash., on Nov. 28, 2022 at the age of 90.

Bev was born in Tremonton, Utah, on June 16, 1932, to Bill and Marie (Larsen) Goldsberry. Bev has great memories of her days in Tremonton with her Larsen cousins and family.

Bev married Roy Lamar Wise, of Garland, Utah, on Dec. 16, 1955, in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived 65 wonderful years together and raised their five sons mostly in Sandpoint and Hayden, Idaho. They moved there with Roy’s work with the US Forest Service in 1966 and fell in love with the beauties and people of North Idaho.

When Roy succumbed to Alzheimer’s Disease and Bev lost most of her eyesight, she moved into an apartment attached to the home of her youngest son, Ben (Amy) in La Center, Wash. Roy passed away March 21, 2020, and she has missed him terribly.

Bev loved to play piano, garden, quilt, paint, refinish antiques, read, play with her dogs and serve in various positions in her local church congregation. She was an avid member of the Relief Society and held various positions within that organization — often for many years at a time.

Bev and Roy served full-time missions for their church in Canton, Ohio, in 1987 and in the Spokane Mission office a few years later. They speak fondly of those experiences.

Mostly, Bev loved her family. Her five sons, Jeff (Vallea,) Mike (Amy,) David (Mary Lou,) Jim (Alisa) and Ben (Amy) will miss her terribly. But they rejoice knowing she is together with Roy again. She is also survived by her brother Kent Goldsberry (Louise) of Bountiful, Utah.

Bev and Roy have 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Marie Goldsberry and her older brother Richard Goldsberry.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. with a viewing held prior from 9:30-10:30 a.m. All services will be held at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah). The livestream link for the service and online condolences may be found at www.ruddfuneralhome.com.

She will be interred in the Garland Cemetery next to her beloved husband and amid many generations of Wise family members.
