SCHOOL LEVY: Vital to Quality of Life

| August 26, 2022 1:00 AM

When we consider quality of life in Coeur d’Alene we think about the natural environment, our strong sense of community, and the quality of our schools. Clearly, our schools are one of our most vital assets. To maintain high quality schools we cannot solely rely on minimum funding from the state. It’s incumbent upon us to step up and ensure we provide students with a safe and enriching environment in which to learn. The district’s current facility needs are well-documented and supportable. The list of deferred maintenance and repairs and safety enhancements is completely justified.

Our schools are vital to our quality of life! And thanks to good fiscal stewardship, even with the approval of this necessary levy the resulting overall tax rate for the school district is still projected to fall next year from $1.56 to $1.30 per $1,000 assessed value.

Let’s take pride in our schools and get out and vote YES for our community and children.
