Michael A. Parker, 68

| August 17, 2022 1:00 AM

We lost our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend Michael “Mike” Parker on July 17, 2022. Mike was born Sept. 22, 1953, in Long Beach, Calif. to Ronald Parker and Margaret (Schorle) West.

Mike moved to Avery, Idaho, in 1962 with his family, where he learned to love the outdoors. Fishing the St. Joe River and exploring the beautiful mountains of rural Idaho. When Mike was 17, he moved to Mooreland, Okla. (GO SOONERS!). He lived there with his Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Jim. While living in Oklahoma, he made lifelong friendships with those he met at school and while working in the oil fields. It was there that Mike discovered his love for art, photography and music, which was shared and loved by all. Mike moved back to California in 1984 and worked at McDonnell Douglas for several years.

Mike moved back to Idaho in 1991, to Post Falls, where he spent the remainder of his years. He loved the Pacific Northwest and took every chance he could get to capture its beauty with his camera. He was a true American Patriot and will be missed dearly.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Parker. He is survived by his mother, Margaret “Maggie” West, his sisters, Kim Parker (Alan), Anne Parker, and Greta Parker, and his brother, Larry West (Heather), as well as his nieces and nephews, Jonny Miller (Chelsea), Michelle Sorensen (Erik), Melissa Ehrmantraut (Chad), Andrew Miller (Melissa), Scott Miller, Elizabeth West, Olivia West, and numerous cousins in Idaho as well as Jim Walling (Linda) and Chuck Walling (Debbie) in Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Kiwanis Park under the Higgens Pavilion (4176 E Weatherby Ave., Post Falls, Idaho) from 1 to 6 p.m. There is an online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com/obituaries/michael-parker
