REGAN: Astonishing lack of self-awareness

| August 10, 2022 1:00 AM

In his latest trip to the soapbox on Friday, Mr. Regan once again displayed an alarming lack of self-awareness. This time, he states, “Those that have become accustomed to power often begin to see that power as their right so any challenge to that power is met with vicious rhetoric, juvenile antics, and sometimes extra-legal actions.”

VICIOUS RHETORIC (the same article): “…lobbyist was reduced to incoherent mutterings…” “…establishment members immediately began what was ultimately a successful operation to overthrow the will of the people.” “…openly blackmail one of the trustees…” “…craven lust for power…”

JUVENILE ANTICS: One of Brent’s most-favored delegates (a gentleman who had registered as a Republican about 5 minutes before the convention and had moved to Kootenai County only slightly longer ago than that) printed and distributed flyers inviting homeless people to “Free Pizza” at an event organized by a political rival.

EXTRA-LEGAL ACTIONS: Let’s not forget the (allegedly) KCRCC-endorsed scheme to infiltrate and destroy-from-within the local Democratic Committee by getting far-right patsies to register as Democrats and run as precinct captains, then appoint the above jokester as party chair so he could siphon off their donations and re-write their official homepage.

Regan devotes considerable ink to denigrating a rival Republican Committee for trying to represent the people of Idaho and rejecting extremists. Then he unironically says, “When the establishment elites lose touch with the citizens, the citizens must rise to install new representatives.”

Mr. Regan has clearly lost (his) touch.
