Celebrate National Night Out with local law enforcement

Community members will enjoy mingling with local law enforcement Tuesday during an abundance of free National Night Out activities.

National Night Out is a yearly community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

Neighborhood group watch parties with Coeur d'Alene Police will take place at several locations in Coeur d'Alene:

• Fernan Terrace group at the Capone’s location at Ponderosa Springs Golf Course, 1291 N. Galena Drive, 7 to 9 p.m.

• St. Germaine group — St. Germaine/Harcourt Drive 7 to 9 p.m.

• McEuen Terrace group — McEuen Terrace Condos — 701 E. Front Ave., 7 to 8:30 p.m.

• Landings group — Jonshawk/Rendezvous — Landings subdivision, 7 to 9 p.m.

• Fort Grounds group — 311 Military Drive, 7 to 9 p.m.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office will have a K9 demonstration, helicopter demonstration, more than 50 local vendor booths, community resources and food and drinks from 4 to 8 p.m. in McIntire Family Park, 8930 N. Government Way, Hayden.

Rathdrum Police officers will participate in a kickball tournament from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Majestic Park, 5400 W. Majestic Ave., Rathdrum. Kids 10 and older are invited to register. Family teams and individuals are welcome. The winning team will play the officers for the championship trophy. Visit rathdrum.sportsites.com/player to register.
